Hi guys as you are aware we are trying our best to rebuild our great site,
Please bear with us, as and when we remember stuff we will post for you.
Here is a really good tipp to greatly improve your fps. ONLY WORKS WITH DUAL/QUAD CORE CPU'S ETC.
Ok 1st you must start ET then minimize it. Open Your task manager and click on the PROCESSES tab. Locate and RIGHT click ET.exe process (see Below)
then left click SET AFFINITY.

Next Uncheck the CPU1 box as shown below and click ok.

Close or minimize task manager and play ET :). This really works, only draw back is you must do this each time you start ET, i assure you it is well worth it tho.

With Vista you need to either be logged on as an Administrator or run Task Manager as an Administrator.
Also when you load ET you should right click your ET icon and select "Run as Administrator" this allows ET to utilise all of it's required functions from windows and makes adjustments accesible.

For Windows Users I would recommend CPU-Controller:
http://www.softpedia.com/progDownload/CPU-Control-Download-67960.html
The nice thing about this little tool is it lets you create profiles for Programs(Games) and automatically set the affinity to the core you want. Another good tip is to put PB on another core and ET on the main core. This seems to help with lag a lot with me. You can also make everything go to one core or the other. Just something to help those who don't want to have to hit:
CTL-SHIFT-ESC
or
CTL-ALT-DEL
During the game. let me know what you think of the program.
Oh Since ET only uses 256 to 512 megs in Memory. if you have 1 gb or more in memory this doesn't cause any major problems with the game. I should know I have tried it on both 1 gb and 2 gb of ram.

What I did to make it work on Vista was click on "show processes from all users" it doesnt flip out on you if you do that

I have same problem to fix this u must open ur game from original file et.exe(not shortcut) but first click right button(mouse)on ur original file et.exe and propriety next go to the agreement and untick start as administrator this programme.Save
Done
Now open ur game and press alt+ctrl+del(manager of tasks) go to the processes click right button(mouse) on ET.exe *32 and SET AFFINITY on PC 0.

I dont have to worry about any of that stuff. Because my computer is old as dirt hehe.
Mine runs ok as is. Tho even tho it is nice have a high fps...the human eye only registers 76 fps. so after 76 to 100 or so...you really cant tell much difference in gameplay. it might help with accuracy possibly but i dont know...cause my computer is too old. it dont speak that language. :p
Oh and Alex....thanks for originally posting this tip.
Even tho it dont help haha :p :p :p

Care to give a quick walkthrough as to how to use this CPU Control.exe?

Oh BTW Another way around the whole "You're not an administrator" problem with Vista is to move your entire game folder OUT of C:\program files(x86) folder. I moved it to my C:\Games. Had to do the same thing with Oblivion.
Thanks everyone for the wonderful tips BTW. Can't wait to kick some *** on ET! (I always felt my skills were extremely hindered by this lag problem)
