map added for our ETPUB server
Fueldump desert is a modification on one of the stock maps 'Fueldump'. Not only has the snow been changed to sand, sand and more sand but there are also updates on the map. A list of major changes:
- Changed snow to desert
- Removed spawnhouse from allied 1st spawn to prevent being blocked
- New tunnel from allied 1st spawn (overside of the road) to river
- Allied footbridge replaced for dynatable antenna
- Axis last base changed exit way
- Axis last base new tunnel
The map is aimed at larger servers - but it can be used for all sizes
You can download the map HERE (http://filebase.activegamer.net/ET/maps/fueldump_uv.zip),

Thanks Avoc for the skybox, thanks to SD for the original map, thanks Sage for the tank(fix). Thanks to Kic for his Ktrees and q3map for his telepoles!
Yes i played this one before, fun map :gestures_animatedth.
I am a real fan of the "classic maps" of enemy territory and this is a nice change. Looks great, plays well.
But needs hunkmegs 128/256.
Make sure to get everyone to change it in there configs.
I don't think NoQuarter can force_cvar it..

Thats another thing to look out for in NoQuarter updates i guess. :emo_10:
Et pub is a great mod, but I've always liked noquarter a bit more, no idea why..

the new etpub is likely now the same than NQ but w/o all the nq bugs
I'd say try it, but that is totally up to the clan leader ;)
Unfortunately its really easy to WJ, i can post some screenshots later.

Bypassing an objective in such a manner is against WF rules. I would hope that people wouldn't read this post and get it in their heads to do this...they 'should' know better and if found out will be kicked.

It's really easy to see I'm afraid..
I am going to report it to the mapmaker and ask if he can fix this along with some other things which can be updated..
There is very little cover from trees/rocks.

Are the depot fences still messed up? Building both sides should not be a hindrance to the axis defense. I wish the side closest to axis spawn would construct an axis openable door (also accessible by allied covies w/pants) or like that fueldump mod that moved the fence into a different direction.

Perhaps they could move the east fence on this map to the gate parallel to the main gate that the tank blows up. In other words, as you're running out of that spawn exit, the constructible gate would be to your right rather than straight ahead.
That was a nifty solution to the problem (the common one I've seen is to simply remove East defenses altogether) in one version of fueldump that I believe WF had in rotation for a little while (or am I imagining things?).

We need to keep this map in the rotation.
1) It doesn't require the hunkmegs tweak!
2) It's fueldump!
3) It doesn't require the hunkmegs tweak!
Some notes:
The new additions are nice... especially adding health+ammo crates to both final axis spawn and initial axis (eventually perma-allies) spawn.
The only negative is that the passage underground to the water tower is a tad long.... it does get you directly where axis needs to go to defuse on the east side, but it's not an ideal defensive passage.
At least that "empty door" near axis final spawn is converted into something useful.
